I’m Helen. I’m 40 years old, and live in Madrid with my husband and our daughter.

In 2016, I was incredibly unhappy, and I decided that I needed to do something different. So I applied to teach English at a Spanish primary school for 9 months (conveniently ignoring the facts that my Spanish could best be described as “basic”, and my experience of teaching children was zilch).

What on earth could possibly go wrong?! Let’s just wait and see…
